Wireless@SG
Overview
Wireless@SG is a wireless broadband programme developed by IDA as part of its Next Generation National Infocomm Infrastructure initiative. Users can enjoy free, both in-door and outdoor seamless wireless broadband access with speeds of up to 1 Mbps at public areas in Singapore.

In Feb 2010, several enhancements to the Wireless@SG network were implemented. Seamless and Secure Access (SSA) was introduced to allow users to more easily connect to Wireless@SG. SSA is especially beneficial for users who access Wireless@SG using mobile handheld devices, and it enhances the usage applications such as e-mail and VoIP over the Wireless@SG network.

The Wireless@SG Connect application was launched to allow users to easily access and enjoy a variety of Wireless@SG applications and services. With Wireless@SG Connect, users can receive relevant information, find nearest hotspots and receive the latest Wireless@SG updates.

The operators are also providing location information from Wireless@SG through a Centralized Location-based Engine (CLBE) to enable developers to create new, location-sensing mobile applications.

Wireless@SG is powered by the network of three wireless operators: iCELL, M1 and SingTel. It will be provided free till 31 March 2013.
